Welcome to DirtyRedCommie.com v3.0. Yes, we're going to try this again. This time, I've got backups. This time, I'm using pre-fab software instead of building from the ground up. This time, I mean it.

I know it's not much to look at yet. But it's functional, and the eye candy can come later. For those of you who didn't catch the first two iterations of DRC, or who didn't really understand what it was, DRC is a group blog. The term "blog" wasn't around back in the days of black backgrounds and bedroom webcams, but it fits the bill. DRC is a place for this particular group of friends to communicate, keep track of each other, and generally waste time. Some of us have already started heading off into the world. Wouldn't it be sad if, in this modern age, we lost touch with each other? The answer is "Yes, yes it would be very sad indeed."

I want you all to be a part of DRC, so I picked a very configurable, extensible system as a base. It's called Drupal, and I think it'll work nicely for our purposes. If you have any suggestions or thoughts on how I should configure or modify this beast, let me know. I'd like it to be something you all enjoy using. We've got a main group blog where you can post stories for everyone. We've got individual personal blogs for all your blogging needs, and we've got a discussion forum where we can abuse each other rapid-fire. Have at it!
